Training with real impact

News

Thousands of learners undertake CPD courses with Tavistock Education and Training every year, and all are asked to provide feedback on their experience via a digital survey.

For the academic year 2025/26, 36% of learners shared responses. Whether relating to live training, bespoke programmes or self-study courses, feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Quality of the learning experience

Participants were asked to rate the overall quality of their learning experience and returned an average score of 8.97/10. When invited to share more detailed feedback, learners consistently highlighted the quality of facilitation, with trainers frequently praised for their expertise, warmth, knowledge and ability to create safe, supportive learning environments.

Relevance to professional practice

Learners were asked how relevant the training was to their work or professional practice, and returned an average score of 4.65/5. When asked to elaborate, many cited experiential learning, case studies, reflection and group discussion as key elements of the courses that helped them to connect theory with practice. Crucially, many participants also reported that they had already begun implementing new approaches in their work settings – underlining the real-world applications of the training.

Digital tools

Many of our CPD courses are delivered online – whether live via Zoom or through our self-study platform. When asked to rate the effectiveness of the digital tools used to deliver the course, learners responded with an average rate of 81/100, suggesting that our flexible online provision supports a strong learning experience.

What’s next?

As part of the survey, participants were also invited to share suggestions for ways to further enhance the learning experience. Respondents shared that they would welcome greater interactivity in some courses, earlier access to slides and resources, and a simpler journey through our booking and learning systems. We are pleased to report that action has already been taken in response to some of this feedback. For example, updates have been made to a number of our self-study courses, and work continues to streamline and strengthen support available throughout the learning journey.

We are grateful to all the learners who took the time to share their experiences after training with us. Honest feedback remains one of the most important ways for us to understand what is working well and where we can improve, helping us to continually strengthen and develop our CPD provision for future learners.
